KDDK Welcomes Mallory Deckard, Royal Gearhart

Kahn, Dees, Donovan & Kahn, LLP is pleased to announce the hiring of associate attorneys Mallory C. Deckard and W. Royal Gearhart II.

Mallory Deckard represents individual and business clients in her practice of insurance subrogation and defense, litigation and trial services, personal injury law, medical malpractice law, family law, and environmental law.  A native of Avon, Ind., Mallory practiced personal injury law and medical malpractice law at firms in Indianapolis and Evansville before joining the KDDK team; and gained additional courtroom experience serving as an intern with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office during the three years of law school.

Mallory earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology cum laude from Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind., in 2008, and her Juris Doctor from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Indianapolis, Ind., in 2011.  She is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, Evansville Bar Association and Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana; and is actively involved in the Rotaract Club of Evansville.  Mallory has twice received Top 40 Under 40 recognition from The National Trial Lawyers.

Royal Gearhart primarily practices insurance subrogation, litigation and trial services, immigration law, family and private adoption law, business law, and environmental and mineral law.  A native of Indianapolis, Royal earned his bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish from Wabash College, Crawfordsville, Ind., in 2009.  Royal participated in study abroad and immersive Spanish language programs while at Wabash, and spent two years living and working in South America between his undergraduate and graduate studies.  He earned his Juris Doctor with a Graduate Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2014.  Fluent in Spanish, Royal gained invaluable experience in many practice areas during law school by clerking and providing translation services for attorneys in the Indianapolis area.

Royal is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, Evansville Bar Association, Brooks American Inn of Court, and American Immigration Lawyers’ Association.  He also actively serves on the Evansville Minority-owned/Women-owned Business Enterprise Utilization Board, Latino Collaboration Table (Vice President), Parenting Time Center (Vice President), and Mayor’s Latino Advisory Committee.
