On February 6th, KDDK partners Mark Samila and Carrie Roelle were honored at the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville Annual Meeting for their service to the organization. Samila was honored with the Man/Woman & Youth Award, and Roelle was honored with the Extraordinary Service Award.

Mark is a 23-year veteran of the Boys & Girls Club Board with six years serving on the Executive Board and two years as Board President from 2012-2014. He currently serves on the Annual Meeting, Resource Development, and Legal committees. As a member of the Legal committee, Samila has been instrumental over the last three years in helping Club leadership navigate opening a new Club in Robinson, IL.
Carrie is an 8-year veteran of the Board currently serving as Chair of the Personnel Committee, co-chairs the Stock the Pantry Committee, serves on the Legal Committee, and provides legal advice for Club operations in Evansville and Robinson, Illinois.
Carrie not only co-chairs the Stock the Pantry committee, but she is also co-founder of the fundraising event. In 2010, Carrie helped launch the Stock the Pantry Cornhole Tournament and has been instrumental in building the event into what it is today. This is the largest annual cornhole tournament in the tri-state area featuring over 100 teams and raising over $35,000 annually to provide healthy snacks to Boys & Girls Club members every day.
