(EVANSVILLE, Ind.) – July 28, 2015 – Steven S. Hoar, a civil litigator at Kahn, Dees, Donovan & Kahn, LLP (KDDK), has been elected president of the Evansville Bar Association.
Hoar primarily handles contract, construction, manufacturing, corporate, financial services, real estate, and creditors’ rights disputes through state and federal courts, as well as arbitration. He also has extensive experience enforcing creditors’ rights through liens, replevins, receiverships, garnishments, and other enforcement techniques.
Hoar is a member and past president of the Vanderburgh Law Library Foundation. He has also held leadership positions with Sterling United Federal Credit Union, Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, and Evansville Westside Kiwanis Club. He is a graduate of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy’s Mid-Central Regional Trial Advocacy Program and an alumnus of Leadership Evansville.
In addition to the Evansville Bar Association, Hoar is a member of the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys, American Bar Association, Commercial Law League of America: Creditors’ Rights Section, Indiana State Bar Association, Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana, and Brooks American Inn of Court.
Hoar earned his bachelor’s degree cum laude in 1994 from DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., and his Juris Doctor from Indiana University’s Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, Ind., in 1997. He is rated AV Preeminent® by Martindale-Hubbell®, has twice been included among the Rising Stars by Indiana Super Lawyers®Magazine, and received the Indiana District of Kiwanis Distinguished Club President Award.
