KDDK has been recognized as a leading law firm for real estate law, achieving a metropolitan Tier 1 ranking for the Evansville area in the 2016 Edition of U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers in America©’s “Best Law Firms.”[i] KDDK has previously been named a “Best Law Firm” for environmental law.
To be eligible for a ranking in a particular practice area, a law firm must have at least one attorney who is included in that practice area in Best Lawyers as part of the annual peer review assessment. As announced in August 2015, KDDK co-managing partner Mike Schopmeyer and partner Kent A. (KAB) Brasseale II were selected by their peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers 2016 in the field of Real Estate Law.
As indicated in the published ranking methodology[ii], the “Best Law Firms” rankings are based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes the collection of client and lawyer evaluations, peer review from leading attorneys in their field, and review of additional information provided by law firms as part of the formal submission process. Clients were asked to provide feedback on firm practice groups, addressing expertise, responsiveness, understanding of a business and its needs, cost-effectiveness, civility, and whether they would refer another client to the firm. Lawyers also voted on expertise, responsiveness, integrity, cost-effectiveness, whether they would refer a matter to the firm, and whether they consider a firm a worthy competitor. In addition, the rankings incorporate millions of evaluations of tens of thousands of individual leading lawyers collected by Best Lawyers in its most recent annual survey.
