Three KDDK partners in our Litigation practice area were recognized as 2026 Indiana Super Lawyers earlier this year. Jeffrey W. Ahlers was honored for his work in General Litigation, Michael E. DiRienzo was reconginzed for his work in the area of Creditor Debtor Rights, and Patrick C. Thomas was selected for his work in Civil Lit: Defense.

Whatever the type of case, KDDK litigators provide vigorous representation, using the appropriate procedural tools to optimally position our client’s case and efficiently bring the matter to conclusion. When appropriate, our attorneys look for ways to resolve disputes early-on, such as through mediation or arbitration.
As an experienced litigation attorney, Ahlers has routinely been honored across multiple litigation-related practice areas. He represent clients in complex business and commercial disputes involving commercial, tort, contract, environmental, mineral, employment, construction, real estate, civil rights, and other areas of law. Also an Indiana Registered Civil Mediator, Ahlers is committed to representing clients zealously and effectively. He represents clients in appeals before the Indiana Supreme Court, the Indiana Court of Appeals, and the United States Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
With 25 years’ experience, DiRienzo works with clients to effectively resolve disputes and continue to build their businesses. He routinely assists clients in the areas of bankruptcy, collection and creditors’ rights law, as well as complex commercial litigation involving business, environmental, construction, and real estate disputes and condemnation proceedings in state and federal courts in Indiana and Illinois.
As a defense trial attorney, Thomas assists individuals, businesses, and governmental entities in claims pertaining to commercial law, contract, insurance, real estate, and municipal law. Thomas has significant experience prosecuting and defending motor vehicle accidents, as well as resolving coverage issues.
