Congratulations to KDDK Partner Carrie Mount Roelle on her selection as one of six finalists for the 2019 ATHENA Award! The award recognizes women leaders based on professional accomplishments, community involvement and efforts to support other women.
Excerpts from her nomination include the following:
“Carrie is the epitome of a truly selfless, compassionate woman, who is able to provide – without hesitation – confidence, positivity, and encouragement to every girl and young lady she meets.” – Debbie Pate
“As parents, we have great confidence that our daughters are engaged in meaningful activities as demonstrated by the simple presence and involvement Carrie always provides. Even as our oldest daughter is now graduating from college, she still communicates with Carrie on a regular basis and Carrie never fails to make time for her. We are thankful to have Carrie present in our lives and serve a meaningful role for the development of our daughters. She is certainly deserving of this recognition.” – Mark and Beth Nunge
“Carrie embodies the spirit of the Athena Award. She is a role model for women, demonstrates professional excellence and donates much of her time to community service. In my opinion, Carrie Roelle would be a very deserving recipient of the Athena Award.” – Jack Pate
“It has been my experience that she is a better person than she ever was a basketball player, and she was an excellent basketball player. Carrie is the epitome of knowledge, loyalty, character, integrity, and compassion. She is a someone that I have complete trust in to advise me on how best to handle certain situations. She is also a positive role model for the young ladies on our team. She mentors and encourages the ladies in a manner that is loving, professional, and effective. Simply put, the Lady Knight Basketball program is better off because Carrie Mount Roelle is a part of it.” – Bobby Meier
“(Carrie) is driven to set a healthy, positive example for our community’s young people. She furthers the (Boys and Girls) Club’s mission of enabling all young people to reach their full potential and continues to improve the quality of life for others through her volunteerism, leadership, adaptability, and relationships. On a personal note, I asked Carrie if she would mentor my daughter while she was still in college. … I cold not have picked a better person. She has helped/influenced my daughter more than she will ever know. I am forever grateful for Carrie.” – Ron Ryan
“The ATHENA Award is given to a woman in the community for her strength, courage, wisdom, enlightenment, professional excellence, community service, and leadership skills – all qualities that represent a great role model for young children, and especially young girls, to help realize their full leadership potential. Carrie Roelle is the definition of this Award. She is brilliant, caring, hard-working, and not only a leader in her profession, but also in her community and place of worship. I feel very honored to be part of the nomination process for someone who is not only my boss, but my friend.” – Jana Sallee
